Yesterday, I talked to my brother about this Closet Creature adventure and how to start promoting the shop. One of the things he told me "Honestly dude, word of mouth is probably how you are going to kick things off with sales and conversations with your site."
My initial reaction was "That feels scary!" A few things crossed my mind like "What if the site isn't set up properly?" "What if the on-demand print company is no good?" "What if the DESIGNS aren't good enough?" At some point, the lightbulb went off and and I decided that I'm going to post on my personal Facebook page to my family and friends and see what the feedback is going to be...Sure enough, it was all positive so far. From that simple personal post, we received 2 sales from some close friends for their kids who's demographic is exactly what we're all about. It's not a bazillion dollars, but I couldn't be more happy with how that customer relationship & friendship has started.
But the pressure is on, price point, manufacturing, shipping and delivery...there are a multitude of aspects within this customer journey that need to be solid. I am still learning this journey by putting myself in the customers position. How would I want to experience this purchase? I am a sucker for great customer experience. If a product guides me through a comfortable or exhilarating experience, I'm a fan for life.
Closet Creature wants to make YOU and your kids fans for life and we're going to work hard throughout the next year to make that happen.
Hope everyone had a great holiday and has a phenomenal start to their 2026. Keep your eyes open!
